Terre di Offida DOC
Offida wines were recognized as a DOC in 2001 (Presidential Decree dated 23rd May 2001). Subsequently, for Passerina sparkling, vinsanto and straw types, the name has been changed into Terre di Offida (MD dated 30th November 2011).
The protocol provides that the straw, vinsanto and sparkling types are obtained from Passerina (85% minimum). All other non-aromatic white-grape vine varieties suitable for cultivation in the Marche region may contribute alone or jointly, up to a maximum of 15%. The grapes used for the production of Terre di Offida wines must come from the vineyards located in the towns of Acquaviva Picena, Appignano del Tronto, Casteldilama, Castorano, Castignano, Cossignano, Montefiore dell’Aso, Offida, Ripatransone, and part of the municipal territories of Ascoli Piceno, Colli del Tronto, Campofilone, Carassai, Cupramarittima, Grottammare, Montalto Marche, Massignano, Monsampolo del Tronto, Montedinove, Monteprandone, Pedaso, Petritoli, Rotella, San Benedetto del Tronto, Spinetoli.
