  1. Work the flour, sugar and a pinch of anise seeds with a little water, until a fairly thick dough is obtained. Shape some balls of about 2 cm in diameter and let them dry naturally in the air.
  2. Arrange the balls next to each other within some small metal circles, on a pan able to contain them very close to one another, and bake in a hot oven (180°) for 30 minutes. The heat liquefies the sugar that goes to fill the interstices between the circles, assuming a beautiful golden colour, while the part left inside the circles preserves its white colour. We therefore obtain these sweets with a typical mushroom shape, they are pleasantly crunchy and very hard when cold, but they find softness again if warmed up.
